DCET se fundó en 1995 para ayudar al creciente número de familias hispanas / latinas en Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas como una corporación sin fines de lucro organizada bajo la sección 501 (c) (3) de la estructura del código del IRS y opera bajo la guía de una Junta de 06-seis Miembros ejecutivos y 6-seis Miembros del Consejo Asesor. La Corporación tiene un plantel de 06-personas voluntarias que se encargan de la administración. DCET se dedica a brindar programas educativos, de tutoría y culturales para el bienestar social y económico de los jóvenes hispanos y sus familias.
Our Vision
We see LA ESCUELITA of DCET community learning centers all over locally, regionally and nationally. Also a dedicated team of professional staff teaching ESL, GED, Citizenship, Computer & Spanish literacy classes for immigrant families in tis majority providing them with solutions to their Educational needs.
Our Mission
To promote LITERACY and LEADERSHIP among immigrant families in Dallas- Fort Worth while LINKING them to community resources through English literacy training, youth mentoring and family supportive services, and to do so with respect for diversity, equity and inclusion
Our Goals
To offer Literacy, Mentoring and Community programs for immigrants in its majority to Hispanic Youth and their family resulting in highly productive members of society.
​To build bridges with community leaders, schools, educators, corporations benefiting the needs of our students
To bring annual conferences about family values and prevention of drugs and alcohol programs.
To offer a multicultural Festival offering health, education and a Job Fair to fundraise funds for high school students going to college.​

As an immigrant herself, founder of DCET understood the needs of the immigrant community
Our Story
In 1995 DCET Founder Elvia Wallace-Martinez designed DCET as a Spanish Radio Talk show called DEBES CREER EN TI (Believe in Yourself), and also a 2-two TV segments, and 52 newspaper columns in Spanish about virtues/family values. These initiatives in 1998, then turned into a non-profit organization housing Literacy and Community and Mentoring programs for Hispanic/Latino families in its majority. With limited funding and working out of her personal finances, DCET Founder started DCET and continues to serve the community as a volunteer. Her programs have helped thousands of students enter the workforce field while preventing them from crime and welfare dependency.
